A New View of FC Community (my /firstdraft ) We talk about 'building community,' but why is it so hard?   @danicaswanson shared "Community Is Not the Product," in which the author argues that extrinsic--or external---incentives, in particular tokens, will not 'build' community. A community, he says, 'is an organic group of humans who are aligned on a given mission & values, working together to achieve that goal.' A community is formed by intrinsic-or internal-incentive--the people are already aligned.  Community is a big part of why I'm here. This article gave me words to describe some things I've seen.   @hankmoody is building /live-the-same with intrinsic incentives. Hundreds of FCers meeting hundreds of FCers--it's like a digital cup of coffee.   /sense recently decreased in activity when Moxie changed. Guess who it didn't change? @3irka.eth @girl-ua @tylerfoust.eth @rosekeyes @vito4ka.eth Why? Because they are there for intrinsic reasons--they love building community.  1/2 (cont'd ⬇️ )

Hi Bradq! Wow, what a huge compliment I received from you. I really appreciate it, your words of support are always a source of energy for me. It really isn't easy to build a community without incentives. But despite that, I always wanted the hard way, because I was always clear that a community built on incentives, when these disappear, the community disappears too. Instead, I prefer what is authentically genuine. And that is why I based myself on exploring some schemes that make us truly human. This way it is easier to connect and be able to share what we like. After all, we are all social beings. I appreciate your effort in communication and dissemination. Also in highlighting the work of other people. Thanks to you I met @chriscocreated and now I started following @danicaswanson and @ted ! And what can I say about the guys from sense and all the people you mention, when one is genuine, it shows from afar. And all of them are formidable! 🫶🫂
