I love being outside and exploring new places of natural beauty, particularly by trail running or hiking. My dream is to give my daughter the ability to access natural spaces that currently remain inaccessible due to being unable to walk. 2. SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU: I love working with and supporting people through whatever life is throwing at them. I'm a trained teacher but now work in pastoral support for international students at a university as part of a charity and the university's religious life and belief centre. 3. HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN FC AND WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN?? @nkemjika is a great friend and someone I met through my work and he generously wanted to give his time to support me and my daughter and set me up with joining FC. 4. TELL US ABOUT ROSALIE AND HOW WE CAN HELP HER? Rosalie is a typical little girl in many ways. She's smart. She's funny. She loves people. She loves animals and she loves music (especially the Wiggles). She loves exploring the world. She laughs a lot. She gets grumpy when she is hungry (like her dad). Rosalie has Rett Syndrome and this means life for her isn't like most other children. Rett Syndrome is a genetic neurological condition that effects brain development and means that Rosalie is reliant on help with all aspects of life. She understands much of what is said to her but can't communicate verbally. She is currently learning to use an eye gaze computer to help her learn to communicate but this is a very slow process. Physically, she is unable to walk or stand unaided and has limited use of her hands. Rosalie has a PEG feeding tube as she can't drink liquids safely. She has other health issues such as epilepsy (Continue๐)

and experiences several seizures a day, though we are trying to get these under control. Rosalie loves exploring the world and I want to be able to take her on walks with me in a way that is comfortable for both of us. Offroad wheelchairs are out there but they are getting wider and heavier as she gets bigger which puts limits on how offroad they really are. They are also very expensive. Seeing the Huckleberry's Hiking Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/huckleberryhiking?igsh=MWtlaHlxcXlzeDVjaA==) highlighted a solution that could open up Rosalie's world just a bit more. @nkemjika offered to get sponsored for running and has continued to raise awareness on Rosalie's behalf and I'm very grateful for any support that people are willing to give to get Rosalie a new cart.
