I decided to read Dostoyevsky. I go to the bookstore, and here it is.
“Crime and Punishment.” On the back page of the cover is an annotation:
“A daring murder with robbery, an exciting duel between a criminal and an investigator, a mad love affair between a murderer and a prostitute - these are not episodes from a Hollywood blockbuster, this is the Peter of R. Raskolnikov's time, a man with an axe noose wedged between his heart and his elbow.”
Ugh, what a tabloid this lauded Dostoyevsky of yours turns out to be.

Dostoyevsky's works can be intense and thought-provoking, not everyone's cup of tea. Maybe try starting with a shorter novel like "Notes from Underground" to ease into his writing style. It's all about finding what resonates with you!
