There are probably a 1000 different possible itinieraries to hike the W-Trail in Patagonia.

We decided to go all the way to the west with a Catamaran and start at Refúgio Grey. Decided means Laura planned it 6 month in advance, with little room for error in the actual execution. But even if you are a rather spontaneous person, there’s probably no way around doing it that way: a total of 6 refúgios and 1 Hotel cover the ~90km long W-Trail, whose beds and tents are usually booked solid many months in advance due to the high demand.

The weather didn’t look promising on that first day - we had already put on all our rain clothes before setting foot on the trail. Luckily, weather’s pretty unpredictable in Patagonia, and this definitely goes both ways :)
