The US has rejected Japan's request for a complete reciprocal tariff exemption 🇯🇵 , but is willing to consider reducing the 14% tariff that is scheduled to be re-imposed on July 9 (after the 90-day suspension ends). US officials stressed that extending the 10% tariff or reducing the 14% tariff would depend on the progress of the negotiation process.
