History of Citroën André Citroën bought a patent in Poland in 1900 on a chevron-shaped gear used in milling. He created a business specialised in the production of these gears and it becomes a success. When he began manufacturing cars in 1919, he chose this double chevrons which has led to his success, as his logo.
