I've visited 50+ countries, and Iranian (along with Cambodian) people were by far the nicest, most welcoming helpful ones. Iran is one of the most peaceful countries in the world and its perception is probably as distorted as it gets in the West: - Iran hasn't changed its borders for 400+ years - Iran has never bombed another country (until last year's retaliation to Israel) - In Tehran, many women don't wear headscarves (I can't vouch for other cities) - 50% of college graduates are women - Women participation in workforce is 19% (dropping with increasing unemployment due to sanctions). Low but higher than other Muslim countries - Independent international observers frequently controlled Iran's nuclear facilities and found zero enrichment activity required for developing weapons Trump is just dedicated to USA's colonial projects. Still? Never heard it tbh. I can't vouch safety as I went there only once, only to Tehran. Even though everywhere in the world cities tend to be less friendly and less safe, my experience in Tehran was phenomenal. People there were telling me Southern Iran was even friendlier.
