I think they are really just articulating one scenario with a whole host of assumptions. It just happens to be the one I’ve read that feels most compelling. To be clear, I hope it’s wrong!

Who knows what will happen, but a couple of thoughts: - I think we are inclined to label AI as good/benevolent/respectful of humans or bad/selfish. I think it doesn’t necessarily develop either of these postures. - The one thing that drives every species that has existed to date, at least to my knowledge, is to proliferate. If that assumption holds AI and humans will absolutely come into conflict. AI will be limited by energy and gradually run out of suitable places to put nuclear and solar generation. It’ll need to move us.

Admittedly a lot of my favorite food is closer to SD proper, but for north coast: - Pizza Port in Solana is pretty indispensable, good if you have the kiddos too - lot of good options for burritos obviously - I like Roberto's in Solana, very no-frills though - if you are into beer at all I think the Stone gardens in Escondido is worth the trip inland - prob 20-30 mins depending on where you are - if you are doing any of your own cooking or want something fresh, I love Cardiff Seaside Market. - My favorite restaurant in SD is Cucina Urbana on Balboa Park. Great for a date but also solid for the kids, and being right on Balboa it's beautiful, open, and there's plenty to do nearby. - I feel compelled to tell you that my favorite burrito in town is at Don Carlos in La Jolla.

I know this is counter-intuitive, but I would either a) implement cross-channel posting or b) do away with channels altogether and replace with something like tags. I think that one of things slowing Farcaster's growth is how siloed everything is - cross-pollination is a critical part of X IMO.
