So we ended September at +7.35%. Although BTC is down about 3.5% today and most altcoins are down, this September has brought us a very positive surprise. Those who follow the channel have been mentally prepared because September is the worst month of the year in the history of BTC, in the end this September is the best September we have ever known. September started with BTC correcting down about 10%, but in the last 2 weeks, the market became more optimistic thanks to the surprise move from the FED to cut interest rates by 0.5% and China implementing large-scale money injections and interest rate cuts. We've finally made it through the summer and September of anxiety and we're officially entering Q4 with a more optimistic mindset.

Ripple and SEC Update This morning, Eleanor Terrett (Fox Business News) reported that a former SEC attorney who recently left the agency said that the SEC will “likely” appeal the ruling that XRP sales on exchanges are not securities. The SEC has until October 7 to file an appeal. Note that we have not heard anything official, all of this is hearsay, and the SEC filing an appeal is risky because Judge Torres’s ruling is currently an isolated ruling, and the other judges are not required to agree or follow it. However, if they appeal and lose, the ruling will be binding on all judges in the lower court. Plus, Grayscale recently reopened the XRP Trust without waiting for the appeal date, so maybe they already know something.

BlackRock continues to buy BTC ETFs for its Global Allocation Fund, now owning 198K shares (~$7.4M) of IBIT as of July 31. This is an increase from the 43K shares (~$1.6M) reported in June. This is still a small, but growing, allocation, and BTC is shaping up as a long-term asset that BlackRock will continue to add to over time, and will likely be added to more funds in the future.

BNY Mellon Bank has been approved by the SEC to provide Bitcoin and crypto custody services, marking the first bank to be exempt from the SAB121 accounting rule. The SEC is backing down after taking a heavy blow from Congress earlier this week.

Vitalik Buterin has stated that he will not mention or support any “layer 2” network until it reaches “Phase 1” by the end of this year, feeling that many layer 2 projects are only decentralized in name and are designed to suck capital out of the Ethereum ecosystem. According to L2Beat, here is the full list of networks claiming to be layer 2 that have now reached Phase 1: - Arbitrum One - Optimism - dYdX v3 - ZKsync Lite Vitalik also mentioned that he recently sold ETH to a biodefense group that Vitalik is funding, and the September 11th ETH sale was the last sale for this event.

FBI now investigating attempted assassination of Trump in Florida The FBI says it is investigating an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Trump is safe after shots were fired at Trump International Golf Club. One man was arrested in connection with the incident, officials said. The man arrested is Ryan Wesley Routh. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were both “relieved to know” that Trump was safe and had been briefed on the situation.
