It requires consistent, deliberate but gentle effort, I think, to keep coming back to yourself. There are phases when life feels like a series of pre-programmed steps that I execute on autopilot. Wake up. Eat. Work. Repeat. Endless loop. Then you realise that this phase is probably how life happens to most people here. 

Then you rebel, gently. 

You steal a moment to let your mind wander. Smell that morning smell. Catch that patch of sunlight. Breathe deeper. Be a human. Not a programme.
