9 months and then hubby will take the remaining 3. In the UK we can have 1 year to share between parents. And you? 6 years are great! It must be a huge change .

Yes, but we've been on one income the whole time. In the States, I was only able to use my banked sick time, so I only got paid for the first 15 days of that time. 😋 But in Massachusetts, childcare is $2,000 per month per kid, so the choice was easy. My older one is finally off to kindergarten (which is free), so we only have to pay for the little one and it finally makes sense to go back to work.

Coming back to work on the 3 September 😭 I am happy in a way but sad in another way of course! Baby will stay with daddy until December (between parental leave and his days off (in the UK they can be very generous) and then he will start nursery in January. We did the same with older one so we are kind-of-prepared 😅
