I love how in “The Innovator’s Dilemma” book (one of my favorites!) Christensen explains how large companies, pressured to focus on their main revenue streams to satisfy stakeholders, often lose out to newer and more flexible players. So is Google facing its own Innovator’s Dilemma with its ad-driven model up against more agile companies like OpenAI and Anthropic? With ChatGPT’s new search feature OpenAI is shifting search toward conversational queries and user-focused answers. Instead of ads and endless links ChatGPT Search deliver direct, contextual information.
