What is programming?  What is computer programming?
 What is programming and what is its application?  What is programming?  A program can be written in a programming language.  Software is a set of programs (which can be written in different programming languages) that are assigned to perform specific tasks by one (or more) users of the software.

 Therefore, computer programming represents writing the source code of a software.  Instead, the term development is used to denote all activities related to the creation of software and its constituent programs.  This includes the specification of the software, its design, then its actual implementation, which means writing programs in a precise programming language, as well as checking its correctness, etc.
