MS World Discoverer was a German expedition cruise ship. It hit a uncharted reef in the sandfly passage, Solomon Islands 29 April 2000. Nature always reclaims what humans leave behind.

@hades thank you for raising this issue๐Ÿ™The power of our planet cannot be underestimated and it is foolish to think that man can control nature. Civilization covers most of the globe, leaving behind dirty reservoirs, cut down forests and mountains of waste. But I think that if we come to our senses in time, nature will be able to heal its wounds and environmental problems will not develop into real disasters.

Since the hole was too big to be fixed on the spot, the captain (after the passengers were evacuated) ran the ship full speed into rodrick bay.
