Avengers: Infinity War was quite pro-utilitarian and anti- sentimental morality. The entire plot was the heroes missing chance after chance to stop Thanos because "we leave no one behind" and in the end Thanos kills half the universe. They ruined it with the sequel but... let's just pretend that doesn't exist, like
