A rare mental disorder known as Cotard Delusion causes individuals to believe they are either deceased or that they have lost all their blood and internal organs.

Cases have been reported in patients with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and medical conditions.

A 53-year-old Filipino woman, referred to as Ms. L, was admitted to the psychiatric unit after her family contacted 911. 

She claimed to be dead, sensed a rotting flesh odor, and insisted on going to a morgue to be with deceased individuals. 

During the hospital interview, she expressed fear of "paramedics" attempting to set her house on fire, where she lived with her cousin and brother. 

Additionally, she admitted to feelings of hopelessness, low energy, reduced appetite, and excessive sleepiness.
