Understanding the evolving DA space - Ethereum Blobs: Less than a year since they were first introduced Blobs are consistently reaching their targeted capacity - this is going to be upgraded in the next hardfork. What Ethereum currently lacks in DA capacity it more than makes up for with DA Fees Paid proving that there are Layer 2s willing to pay a premium for Ethereum Blobs which cost over $50 per MB yesterday. - Celestia: Meanwhile @Celestia has seen a significant spike in Data Posted largely coming from Eclipse proving they have the capacity to meet demand. With cost per MB being on average $0.17 for the year. Celestia not only provides reduced costs they also are more consistent in their pricing. - Further Comments: Trade-offs exist between DA providers and different use cases may require different solutions – what’s important is that this experimentation is happening on Ethereum made possible by Layer 2s. Over 1,000 GB has been posted to DA providers within 1 year ~30% of which was posted in the past 30 days! Using these charts, you can compare DA consumers within each DA provider – you can also filter on individual consumers. In the past 30 days $4.2 Million has been spent on DA and the market is growing! The biggest DA consumer of Ethereum blobs is @Base whilst Eclipse is the largest on Celestia
