❓ What it shows:
Monitoring the Blob Count is essential for assessing the data throughput and scalability of the DA layer. A higher blob count indicates increased usage and demand for data availability services, reflecting the network's capacity to handle more transactions and maintain security.

🔍 Observations:
Both Ethereum Blobs and Celestia have seen a dramatic increase in Blob Count this year. Whilst Ethereum Blobs gained an early lead Celestia reached the highest ATH of 40k. More recently both DA providers are seeing ~20k blobs per day

❓ What it shows:
Tracking the number of Blob Producers provides insights into the decentralization and resilience of the DA layer. A diverse and growing number of producers can enhance the network's robustness, reduce the risk of centralization, and improve data availability reliability.

🔍 Observations:
Both have an upwards trend with Ethereum Blobs being more volatile with a steeper uptrend. Celestia has a more gradual uptrend and is less volatile overall spiking as high as 43.

❓ What it shows:
Understanding the volume of Data Posted is crucial for evaluating the network's usage patterns and scalability. High data volumes may indicate increased network activity and demand for data availability services, while also highlighting potential areas for optimization and scaling.

🔍 Observations:
Rapid growth in Data Posted to both Celestia and Ethereum Blobs has more than tripled the total Data Posted in comparison to Ethereum Calldata alone - the data pie is growing.

❓ What it shows:
Analyzing Fees Paid helps in understanding the economic sustainability of the DA layer. It reflects the cost associated with data availability services and can indicate the financial health of the network. Additionally, it provides insights into the demand for data posting and the efficiency of fee structures.

🔍 Observations:
Using the logarithmic view we can see that Ethereum Blobs are the most volatile in terms of total Fees Paid daily. Ethereum Blobs have historically been significantly cheaper however when the price spikes, it does so significantly and has even previously exceeded Ethereum Calldata. Celestia on the other hand is far more consistent in terms of total Fees Paid and remaining below Ethereum Calldata.
