was back in the states the last few days celebrating my gma’s life, a few memories:
over 33 yrs i never once heard my gma raise her voice or get upset at a single person, even my gpa
she always asked me and everyone else at the table if we needed more to eat or drink at a meal, putting everyone else first every time
on every holiday every single year she and my gpa wrote all of us grandkids a hand written card, never missing one
she gave me a big hug and told me she loved me every time i left her house, often times multiple hugs, and then stood outside and waved as we drove away - even when she lost most of her words, she would tell us many times “i love you kids so much” and “i don’t remember much, but i remember you kids, that’s the main thing”
she never picked favorites, and i know my sister and all the cousins would say the same thing
the most selfless and caring person i’ve ever met, never holding back love for others
this is living fully, and i hope to pass it on 🫶 21 replies
