Old person: “crypto is interesting but the environmental impact bothers me so I’ve stayed away” → I explained the move from PoW to PoS in Ethereum

Recent college grad (some CS classes) was asking what it means to work in crypto beyond trading → I tried to explain smart contracts and protocols

Old person was in their late 70s! I was equally surprised that they were actually interested hahah

This made me laugh a little, probably cos generational differences 🤣 what’s your definition of an old person? Mine is someone in their 70s and their response to crypto is usually: “ahh bitcoin!” And that’s about it 😅

Which protocol did you try and explain as an example?

Ethereum using less enegery than Bitcoin was a good enough start 🙃
