pretty bad that metamask still says estimated gas is $0.00 but it ends up being $0.14 on L2 networks. why is this the case?

or another transaction yesterday it said estimated $0.11 but it turned out to be $0.40

the value isn't the problem - I don't mind a few cents difference, but percent inaccuracy is kinda wild

i don't think they support ENS which is a deal breaker for me

agree but I'd hope metamask has plenty of resources to handle it by now!

I was sending $0.51 of ETH to a friend. the estimate vs real gas price is the difference of 0% fee and 27% fee

(ofc I know it doesn't change based on value but we can't expect normal people to understand this stuff)

Totally agree, what is the source that it pulls for the calculation is it a chainlink oracle?
