How much would it hurt Ethereum if Etherscan lost all smart contract ABI's tomorrow?

Some but Eth is so distributed at this point that others would quickly hit up the slack as an opportunity.

I think the bigger problem would be going backwards though. We would effectively lose most decoded transaction data, no?

I’m not the only one with a database of every ABI on etherscan

My guess is other block explorers would try to swoop in, maybe historical decoded txs need to be paid for. Would be a big hit to the ecosystem tho for sure.
