Agile Energy X, a subsidiary of Tokyo Electric Power, is exploring (https://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/15397216) the use of renewable energy to mine Bitcoin. The company plans to install Bitcoin mining machines near solar power plants. It projects that in the future, up to $2.5 billion worth of Bitcoin could be mined annually in Japan using this method.
