Yes, tough call. There isn’t a player I don’t like. Would like Sabalenka to win. I love Carlos and Sinner. That match will likely be the actual final. I think Zverev will beat Ruud if he can maintain that high first serve percentage. I placed a bet today that Zverev would win the whole thing. It’s a long shot.

As we approach the semi finals at Roland Garros, who are your picks for men/women to win?

Same. It’s been hard for me to get excited about his success. But his greatness is undeniable. Sad to see him withdraw from Roland Garros.

As of Monday you will have secured the #1 spot with Sinner. And I don’t see him relinquishing that any time soon. Hope he can stay healthy

I agree. Humility would do him well. I could probably use some humility myself :) My favorite player, man or woman, is Sabalenka. Such a joy to watch her play.

Tsisipas is a brat. Such a baby. Rune can be too but I at least like his coach, Mourataglou. Sinner is such an amazing player and from what I can gather an amazing person. Same with Carlos. Different personalities but both great for Tennis. Been loving Zverev’s service game. He will be tough to beat imo.

That’s a bummer. That match against Cerúndolo was amazing. Hope he didn’t do too much damage. I’m currently sidelined with a knee injury as well. Super frustrating. The field is still full of my favorite young players. All of whom are playing amazing tennis. I am rooting for anyone but Tsisipas.

I continue to be shown what art, “can be.” It is inexhaustible. Have been a number of big moments with music, visual and culinary arts. My strongest such memory is hearing the Beatles, “Revolution,” at age 10. “What is that sound?” Answer, “distortion.” Picked up a guitar and haven’t looked back.

I recently finished Agassi’s biography. Highly recommend. A very entertaining read that provides insight into what it takes to get to #1 in what is arguably the toughest individual sport. Has anyone else read it? His comeback was inspiring. I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves.

Topspin forehand. Push your opponent back. when possible, a drop shot. Think 3 shots ahead. As Brad Gilbert says, “you don’t need to be perfect, just better than one person.” If you have access to a ball machine, I find practicing baseline ground strokes moving side to side is helpful and fun. Enjoy!

Working in a coffee shop this morning. Next door is a book store. Bought Dune. Haven’t read it before. Will read it with this in mind.
