Liked WOD, just not garrions or ships. I thought garrions whould be so much better, but I hated the iteration they gave us.  Great money makers though!

The concept of player housing is something that people want for sure. I think it isolated people a bit though. 

But going back to the Warcraft roots, it makes sense to have your own city that you build up over time. Perhaps too complex to do within WoW? Idk
