@greatgambino.eth has some meat to gnaw on: @razdva has realigned his network to dump allowances on Perl, presumably to thwart [ded...] and exit with bags intact. Now, @perl is aware and already taking action (their game, their discretion)... By pivoting, did razdva discover acceptable practice or is this still misconduct?

To me it’s misconduct because of what preceded it and the fact that the ENTIRE allowances were sent to Perl. Not a single degen was tipped to a creator, builder, supporter, etc. Literally just trying to cash out lol. I play with Perl too because it’s fun. But I use maybe 10% of my allowance

I agree. Do you mind examining this a little more closely? There's something there that bugs all of us that I can't quite define. What about the exclusive investment is misconduct? I agree it's gross but... why?

He could very well lose all of the Perl bets and end up with absolutely nothing. The part that irks me (and everybody else I’m assuming) is that he got caught and is now STILL trying to find a different way to game the system. If it was anybody else I wouldn’t really think twice about them wanting to spend their entire allowance on Perl. He entered this season with the intention of gaming the system for self gain. In no way trying to support Degen or any other related project. He got caught and is now still trying to find ways. And I’m 99.9% certain he’d plan to dump EVERYTHING as soon as he was able to claim

oh for sure. and they'll all dump their locked degen on unlock (ofc lol). i guess what i'm looking for is a stable line of argument that supports the implicit claim: "allowances must be used to support degen or farcaster" and its counterpart "allowances must not be used for personal gain" if we can nail this down, in a way the community finds acceptable, then degen project has the force and justification to push back. else, it does kinda seem like "locking entitles you to the yield" and we're just pissed off because they nakedly exploited an obvious loophole lol

Yeah it’ll be very difficult to explicitly define what allowances can and can’t be used on. Not possible I think. It’s easier to define what abusing the system is though. I think a lot of people are here for self gain. We all want to make money. But there’s certain acceptable ways to go about it. Building a community or following, rewarding supporters, building projects/frames to receive tips, etc, are all great use cases. I think we all agree that what he’s doing isn’t an acceptable use case and doesn’t help degen or the community in any way lol. We’re trying to build, not farm and dump.

Yeah, not going to attempt "an explicit and exhaustive list of ethically proper allowance usages" -- i've taken and taught enough philosophy classes to know that ain't happening. and agree that we might ONLY be able to describe the rule by defining what isn't acceptable. That's largely what all rule based ethics systems do: broad, directional oughts narrow, understandable naughts "Be good. Don't kill." sorta thing. Everyone demanding ethical clarity is chasing the wrong problem, imo.
