If Merkle has to shut down because they refuse to give DC history (which is why TG CEO has been arrested), any other client is safe. If Warpcast has to shut down because they do not respect DMCA notice, only self-hosted consumer clients survive, as anyone will have to comply. As Merkle owns the recovery address for most of the users, they could even be forced to take down user accounts @woj.eth I am not sure who owns the recovery address for Supercast created accounts ?
