This was my favorite electronics device – the "minidisk player" by Sony. Steve Wozniak wrote in his memoir that it was the inspiration for the iPod. Cool to the touch; it would load up and play your top tracks simply with high fidelity.

the CD walkmans were so big to carry around! I have fond memories of using the MiniDisc players on the tube in London as a teenager, and whenever I hear a long like colorblind by the counting crows I think about it!

yeah, cargo pockets were a necessity when carrying a discman lol i'd listen to the same album or mix for days at a time simpler times

i was playing a lot of guitar back then so my discman was looping soundgarden, foo fighters, and pearl jam blow up the outside world, black hole sun... monkey wrench, my hero... evenflow, alive also lots of oasis from the morning glory and be here now eras makes me want to make a playlist

Pearl Jam and Oasis were so great for me around 2008. Back then I was building a publishing platform on Google App Engine and something similar to Goodreads, and would always have it on in the background while coding. Also Silversun Pickups randomly haha
