I like it though, that resonates with me - could also be applicable to other artforms now that I think about it 300 $degen

I've once written somewhere, that generative art is for me more than coding randomness, it means writing intuitions. 
But this isn't a very clear definition... 😅

I like that a lot! And I don't think it's too broad, emergence is definitely an integral part of generative art. With more precise definitions you start losing some defining aspects 400 $degen

maybe too generic to be useful but:

‘The simulation of complex systems and their emergent properties for artistic purposes.’

Generative art is the act of creating through the use of a randomized process via manual or computerized processes.

art is Human creative expression intended to be enjoyed by others. If AI creates art, it is simply just mimicking human talent by taking ideas, styles, and parts of art from many sources on the internet.
