The Ghouls In Arab Folklore, they are evil beings, basically walking corpses that roam the deserts looking for people to kill and devour. There are numerous reports and stories from travelers, peasants and pilgrims. The Persians also reported many encounters with Ghouls. The word Ghoul is derived from غول / ghūl and can be translated as demon.
