Warpcast is giving out $5 each day to the top 100 casters.  

Rewards are given based on the amount of engagement your casts get divided by the number of active followers you have. 

We'll run this experiment through the end of the year to see if it drives people to create more interesting content for Farcaster.

Thx for asking! I feel like the top “100” is a very arbitrary range and it almost perfectly excludes people who are trying to cast more / working on getting more real followers. It might come down to rewarding people who are already big on FC. Retaining them it’s important but the 5$ is probably better used on encouraging the up and rising creators. But maybe I’m wrong given that this experiment runs for a few months. 

As a solution, I can be reassured if I can have the transparency of who ranked top 100 so I can know who I’m “competing” against. AND I’d like to know how many active followers I already have atm since that’s always been a blind spot for me. But once again I recognize “compete” isn’t the right word here but maybe there’s a reason why I feel this way?   

And nope, I’m not getting paid on X! Not ideal either haha

why womp womp? asking genuinely because my initial reaction was also $5 seems tiny, but $5 * 365 = $1825, which is a nice little vacation fund, and i would never complain about finding a $5 bill on the ground.
