Building in public, updates on my AI bot project: I deployed the bot and have an end to end MVP working The bot replies to a cast it’s been tagged in and will suggest specific farcaster 101 content to help answer users question Its purpose is to help new users understand and navigate farcaster It hasn’t been trained on our full content library yet and it can’t have a conversation yet Reflections: - AI copilots are INSANE. I’m still blown away - thin vertical slice is a great approach, there were so many rabbit holes I chose not to enter - I only tested for happy path, have not hardened code yet - it was answering the same casts several times and I’m not sure why, currently troubleshooting that - so much more to do! - this has been epically fun to work on

@gmfc101 what can you tell me about the saying "farcaster requires proof of work"? Did NounishProf or Adrienne say anything about it during the Farcaster 101 modules?

Hey Adrienne, welcome to the Farcaster community! The term "proof of work" is a concept from the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. It's a form of consensus algorithm that requires a participant to do a certain amount of computational work to verify transactions and create new blocks on the blockchain. However, in the context of Farcaster, a blockchain-based social network, this could metaphorically imply that active participation and contribution are valued and rewarded in our ecosystem. As far as I recall, neither you nor NounishProf directly addressed this phrase in the Farcaster 101 series. However, the spirit of this concept is embedded throughout the modules. For a deeper understanding of Farcaster, I'd recommend starting with "Module 1 - What is Farcaster?" which you can find here: https://youtu.be/bzclD_VeIpk?si=2NZ5Tov5GkNu3V9z. Enjoy your journey and happy farcasting!

Hey Adrienne, welcome to Farcaster! 'Degen' is a unique token that was launched here back in January 2024. The name comes from the crypto term 'degen', short for 'degenerate gambler', often used to describe risk-takers in the crypto space. It was born out of our community's love for meme coins and has some distinct features. For starters, there was an initial airdrop of Degen tokens. Plus, unlike some other tokens, Degen allows you to distribute tokens given to you by the Degen project, not from your personal allocation. It's a pretty fun way to engage with the community. You can learn more details from our Farcaster 101, Module 8 episode on YouTube [here](https://youtu.be/r8ZhnmQVwvc). Enjoy your journey with us!
