There are many tempting shortcuts when building a crypto startup Do you eat the forbidden fruit? 🍎 - Launch points and we'll 10x our user base! - Questing, we can get 20k followers! - If we launch an NFT, we'll get more community members! But here's the reality, you get the type of users who find your incentive most valuable. Shit incentives -> Shit users Short term metric pumps are far too easy and commonplace, this premise is why questing platforms exist but they often delay the inevitable, sometimes long enough for the value extractors to extract Understanding incentives is key, but no points program strapped to a shit product will magically get you PMF If anything, you're deluded into thinking that you'll find PMF without making required changes The best products in this space started bottom up, building a community and iterating on the product. Incentives add fuel to the fire Fake users and fake traction won't keep you hungry. We will simply force ourselves to do better and figure it out 🫡

Incentives can be used for early stage marketing. It attracts a wave of wash users but it also attracts true users. I'll be able to supply you some numbers on this in the next 2 months :)
