Interesting argument. Reminds me of "why do people buy real estate on the coast while believing climate change will devastate the coasts?" I've seen disease go into remission via epigenetics with staggering statistical significance, so I fundamentally disagree "it's in our genes." But I do think he has a point...

Another saying comes to mind: "the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent" Life insurance policies (the market) can make money in the face of epigenetics (stay irrational) because most people can't yet adopt epigenetic behaviors, environments, & resources (stay solvent)

Yeah, these are good points and I thought about the fact that the market can stay irrational... On the first post, I would buy real estate on the coast myself....

There's probably a novel metric that can be defined in there somewhere. Like "epigenetic availability." If availability > n, then culture = transhumanistic It's sort of like the point of escape velocity.
