going to one of my best friend's wedding in são paulo in late november and i'm considering extending the trip to explore other parts of brazil.

anybody have good travel recs for a ~week long trip?

A few things:
- São Paulo is a huge metropolitan city. It is the biggest in the whole Americas. So expect a kind of New York Vibe but there is more sprawl. São Paulo has the best Sushi and the best Pizza in the world. So make sure to try out both. Where you stay and go out will also have a huge impact in your experience. I recommend staying around Itaim Bibi or Moema. São Paulo is fairly safe but you should not be displaying your iPhone or belongings when you walk outside. 

You should visit Ibirapuera, which is a huge park in the center of the city. I also recommend visiting some great malls, like Shopping Cidade Jardim (https://maps.app.goo.gl/tWHLHqkAzvHapRV99), which you will need a Uber or car to go to.

You will also want to try Churrasquerias. Try NB Steak:

You have to try Sushi in São Paulo. If you are travelling, Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful city. The scenery is great, but don't ever take your iPhone out of your pocket or any belongings. If you go to the beach, leave any valuables at your hotel (including iPhone). I don't usually go to Rio because of that

If you want to enjoy a city that has sand, sea and mountains go to Floripa. It is one of the best cities in the country. It is beautiful and the people there are extremely nice. I highly recommend Floripa. I also recommend getting a car in Floripa. You won't need a car in São Paulo cause you can get Uber anywhere. Floripa has beautiful beaches like:

In Floripa, I recommend staying in an Airbnb with lots of great reviews. It is going to be probably better than a hotel. You can also stay sometime in the Praia do Jurere, which is "farther" from the city and has some nice "hotels". It is a beach area.
