vids have 3 secs to capture attention (10 words) with zero way to fact check content (unlike community notes), and the algo boosts controversy.

I watch TikTok more than most on this app and never saw the Bin Laden thing - only saw it on Twitter

Could it be that you interact less with political content and so the algo doesn't show you much? Insta reels started showing a lot more doggo content to me as I got a dog and the algo figured it out

I see. I think the argument that some are using is that TikTok favors some sides of the debate and sometimes that is weaponized by the CCP. I don't know if it is true or not, but I saw a thread of someone trying to engage with  pro-Israel content and the platform started showing content that was not pro-Israel

Yes and that's my point - it's not the platform's fault, it's the users. Those users are going to see the same content on TikTok or Twitter, but nobody's saying ban Twitter
