A coworker at work invited our department to her birthday party out of town. She asked if anyone was allergic to anything and wrote down what would be on the table. I wrote to get a certain champagne. I got a lot of abuse in the chat room, saying, “What are you doing?! Eat what you're given, and if you don't like it, buy it yourself.
