Remedios Varo, a Spanish-Mexican surrealist and anarchist painter, is one of the most important and influential painters in Mexico.  Some art critics have evaluated his works as postmodern allegories.

 He fled to Paris during the rule of Franco in Spain and entered the circle of French surrealists.  After the occupation of France in World War II, he went to Mexico and lived in exile until the end of his life.

 Her works are a protest reaction to the marginalization of women by patriarchal and anti-feminist surrealist artists who, she believes, never saw their female counterparts as artists.

 He destroyed all the goddess-like images of women and female figures of the Quaqrists, and in his grotesque works, he depicted bisexual creatures with heart-shaped faces and big eyes, which are a combination of the artist's own face and mythological creatures.

 "Texture of Dreams", "War" and "Heaven of Cats" are among his most important works
