as someone who "retired" at 39, this hits and misses a little bit. There is something to "enjoying" life when you're young and can. But work, and purpose, is also an important part of living. Stopping too early is a feeling of having more to give, but nowhere to put it.

I think they can work well together goals and purpose give direction, where to move just don't emotionally over-invest in reaching the destination and remember to enjoy the moving itself

I mean sure, "it's about the journey, not the destination" has to be the most cited platitude ever. Saved by the Bell had a whole episode on it. If it were easy to do, we wouldn't need to be reminded so much :)

thing is it’s also about the destination because without a destination there’s no journey, it’s the goal that traces a path
