crazy how nailing down operations is hard, regardless of company size.  

while org. is small, it feels like "i guess it's ok to not do this like our guideline says, it's just the 3 of us"

when it's big it's like "ah Paulo skips this (procedure) all the time, i can to, screw it"

I'd say the way to go is showing people why it's recommended to do stuff any given way ("guys we should fill that additional field every time we create a new XYZ so we can feed a dope analytics"), but even then some people might disregard for different reasons. Persistence is the key imo.
