I've wanted to try Linux for a while but never took the time to set it up so far. How do I start getting Linux-pilled?

there's distros u can run from a pendrive! I started this way, to bring to life old notebooks since linux distros are so lightweight they'll perform WAY better then Windows on older hardware. I ended up figuring out how to dual boot eventually. xubuntu is user friendly and i guess it from pendrive, try checkin it out
