Are people still claiming Google’s days might be numbered? 

Finding myself using the AI overview above search results for most queries I would have asked Claude a few months ago and it currently has the best model.

Still a huge amount of value in being the top result, especially for companies selling physical products and in-person experiences.

Even so, the majority of google’s revenue still comes from paid search results. If most people use the ai overview why pay for the top search result?

It usually gives me the info I need. The big advantage is it’s free and doesn’t require changing existing search habits.

You don't think they took their sweet ass time to offer this? And it's not that impressive is it?

I still instinctly Google things rather than open an LLM app. The AI overview has really made retrieving information very helpful, kudos to Google.
