Why guitar works too - bending a note out of tune and then back into tune/resolution is a microcosm of human emotional experience

This is why people love the old Moogs, Oberheims, etc. They drift in and out of tune due to the instability of analogue VCO’s is more human like. My theory is that our voices are never completely in tune so it draws upon that.
