Seeing so much hate for this diagram that would have been accepted as common wisdom 5 years ago makes me sad, and makes me somewhat more scared for the future of the world.

I hope we can snap out of this mode of thinking soon.

But also the chart is kind of confusing. 

Ex: If you define in group as “intellectually honest, compassionate & morally consistent”, then by definition people doing bad stuff are only going to be in the out group.
