I’m curious how you got the career on track. What was that process like after the convictions?

I am extremely lucky to work in an industry that's closely tied to counter culture. So, backgrounds with drug use aren't shamed as hard. The company I work for is also very family oriented. I worked here before all of my legal trouble and after I had gotten my shit back together, they gave me an opportunity to prove myself which I ran with. Prior to that, I was still doing alright, but not nearly to the same degree. Was making $20/hour as a solo plumber which was decent, but nowhere near what I'm earning now. The most important step that I took after this all happened to start rebuilding was getting that job as a plumber. Before it, I had 0 confidence in my ability to do anything. I hadn't worked in years, my skills had degraded, etc. Showing up to ANY JOB and seeing that I could still make shit happen was a confidence booster enough to go after the jobs I knew I could still do.
