The bedroom pop guitar, the harshness of the beat, the repetition of the riffs, Antwon's voice rough and echoey over it — all sounds like leaning out of a car driving through a town you knew when you were a different person and thought life would be different; it's summer and you're wondering when everything fell apart

There's an inevitability to the grief in Antwon's forceful delivery and the constancy of the guitar and the beat: "you seemed so sad, I felt the same / I knew you felt a way that I couldn't change", all delivered as facts. No illusory hopes, no wishing it away, no positive spin. Only an acknowledgement of the sadness and its gravity — a recognition poignant in itself because sometimes all we want is just to be heard, to be seen

Feels dumb to say (because surely it's the point of music) but I love a track in which the instrumentation and production add a vital layer to the story being told that couldn't be expressed any other way

One of my first deep dive into DnB was back in 97 with the purchase of The Black Steele Project, Subject 13's debut album. Suffice to say, I was blown away and it opened the door for me to many new gems!

I've decided to try releasing 100 songs in 100 days in 2024. I'm doing this to  help myself develop as a producer, video editor and songwriter, and I think this is a great way to help improve my technique.

This first song was posted on my instagram on the 1st of Jan, and I'm now adding it to all my socials. It's kind of a power ballad type song with orchestral backing. I will also upload another song later today.

I hope by the end of this project that I have improved in all these categories, and would love some feedback, tips, and to collaborate!
