Running into what I think is a problem with Farcaster. I want to talk to people about AI. The creator of the /ai channel has disappeared or isnt responding, and their modbot is broken. How are new users supposed to come and enjoy Farcaster if they come here and can't even talk with the people they want to talk to?

1. You can still reply to casts in the /ai channel, so you are technically still able to talk to ppl about AI 2. You can look for other AI channels that may have more active mods/relaxed membership requirements 3. You can make your own AI channel with your own rules/norms I do think Warpcast should introduce native channel membership request/approval flow. Right now channel owners and mods have to rely on third-party apps to do this or they need to manually invite users like I’m doing with /music. Channel memberships were introduced to help reduce spam, it was really bad before

I feel like the point of this is that I wanna talk to everyone about AI at once, not self curate my own AI community

I get what you mean and that’s how I would have approached it too, at least until Farcaster reaches a certain scale. But channels were originally meant to be programmable “cozy corners” that anyone could spin up. What you’re describing sounds more like hashtags, which is actually how channels function at the protocol level. Technically, you don’t need a membership to cast in /ai - it’s just a requirement enforced by Warpcast and any other client that chooses to respect the concept of channel memberships https://docs.farcaster.xyz/learn/what-is-farcaster/channels https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/71
