this is a timeless truth of creative work that predates crypto. its why most of the famous artists, writers, and musicians we know and love have all had influential supporters acting on their behalf from behind the scenes D.R.E.A.M.

True, but crypto was supposed to fix that - decentralization was meant to empower creators, not just make a new class of middlemen. Also curious what you think... should artists prioritize owning their distribution, or is it smarter to use existing platforms?

i dont think crypto ever claimed to fix the problem of distribution. removing middlemen and empower creators, yes. but distribution is orthogonal to that imo i think owning your distribution channels is important for creators, but much harder to make work compared to using existing platforms

The last two web3 waves of users and collectors have taken a huge step backwards regardless of the great advancements in distribution like Hypersub. Honestly it's going to be quite a bit and we can't really use top artists earning as a sustainability metric for all. WE won't be "back" for a few years imo.
