What if we created Farcaster rewards instead of:in addition to Warpcast rewards?

Use the protocol treasury for this instead of getting tempted to hire full time protocol staff which will undoubtedly gate-keep & ‘make work’ to stay employed. 

The protocol bloat is real. FC is pre diabetic. 😢

Trending the protocol treasury to ZERO via reinvestment in the network for app devs seems virtuous. This should also have the ‘benefit’ of slowing down protocol changes. Break ‘the protocol’ up into different protocols so each may harden & compete. 🙏

Could even extend beyond just apps. The protocol treasury can also be used to reward those who operate channels and run other projects/tools that benefit Farcaster

This is the dream! I really hope more people start caring about this. It doesn’t feel right to see Merkle raise so much money while users scrape by with memecoins, the treasury sits idle, and the only reward programs are controlled by Merkle and distributed through black-box algorithms.

How are users actually sharing in the value created by the network? It seems like Merkle is taking a much larger cut—just like Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit—compared to their users. Warpcast Airdrop Offers are interesting, but they don’t fully deliver on the big promise.

Exactly. Those who give the most value to the network should get the most from value from the network.
