How do channel owners balance curation and monetization? Would asking users to pay a certain amount per month to have their casts appear in the main channel feed solve the spam problem? What should be done if someone who has paid for a monthly /hypersub begins to spam the main feed? cc @nonlinear.eth @jtgi

>Would asking users to pay a certain amount..? i dont think it solves the spam problem, just cuts down on it >What should be done if someone who has paid for a monthly begins to..? they get hidden or banned. easy to refund onchain creating a cozy corner will still require a lot of work imo, thats what the 31% is for

The ability to hide a cast is no longer on the table. Im guessing /automod would need to add a new blacklist feature that would not like casts by someone who has the NFT. Channel owner can then also do the onchain refund for the hypersub. Sounds like it can work, but may also become chaotic

hiding is actually what happens by default. in order to be displayed in the main feed a cast must be "boosted" (liked) by the moderator or curator https://warpcast.notion.site/Public-v2-Decentralized-Channels-535ffce48c95413ea81bc89d6170fd99

the work required by the mod will be to issue an onchain refund to spammy accounts. takes about 30s on hypersub, automod will not boost (casts hidden by default) from then on

I guess the rules need to be clear, and you have to be ok with ignoring anyone who thinks they were wrongly banned/refunded. Where can I learn more about how the 69% is paid out to all the hypersub users in your example? Does that happen automatically each time a new user pays or is it manually distributed?

my current thinking is: 1) set a splits contract as the hypersub revenue recipient that sends 31% of the channel revenue to my personal address and 69% to an allocation address and, 2) use paybot to tip from the allocation address wdyt?
